Giving your life to God means surrendering full control of your life to Him—recognizing that you are not your own, but belong to God because He purchased you through Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). It’s both an initial act of faith and a daily commitment to live in obedience, trust, and devotion to Him.
What It Means
Renounce self-reliance: You stop trying to live for yourself and instead choose to live for God’s purposes (Romans 12:1–2).
Offer yourself as a living sacrifice: This means dedicating your body, mind, time, talents, and possessions to God’s service, not as a one-time event but as a continual act of worship.
Trust God with your life: Like a child entrusting money to a parent, you place your life in God’s hands, believing He is faithful, powerful, and good (1 Peter 4:19).
How to Do It
Confess your sin and accept Jesus’ sacrifice—acknowledge you are a sinner, believe Jesus died and rose again for your salvation, and invite Him to be Lord of your life (Romans 10:9).
Pray sincerely: Speak honestly with God—admit your need for Him, thank Him for His grace, and surrender your will to His.
Live it daily: Surrender is not just a prayer—it’s a lifestyle. It means choosing obedience over comfort, love over fear, and service over self-interest (Luke 9:23).
Key Biblical Foundations
"Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." – Romans 12:1
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me." – Galatians 2:20
"If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me." – Luke 9:23
True surrender brings peace, purpose, and transformation. It’s not about perfection, but about a growing relationship with God—where you continually turn from sin, rely on His strength, and seek to reflect His love in all you do.
